Jordan's green garden

Proposals have been announced to build a 'green' city
on the outskirts of Amman.

The city will eventually house around one million people
and will be the biggest development of its kind in the
world.

The water used by the city, and all the waste created by it,
will be recycled and reused. The city will generates it's own
electricity.

Amman is the perfect location for such a city.

The climate in Jordan is not as extreme as in other countries
and Jordanians already have good habits when they use
nature's resources.

Air-conditioning system, for example, are used less in Jordan and
the average Jordanian uses only 90 litres of water a day .

An average Emirati uses around 500 litres per day.

The green city is an important step in protecting the
environment and allowing people to live healthy, comfortable lives.
